No. It does not.

Let is be said, the campaign against free speech had Marxist origins; but it was legions of liberals that confusingly aligned themselves with this decidedly illiberal idea. Perhaps it was because some of them naively saw the curtailment of speech not as a power exercise but as a polite concession, which would make the environment more “comfortable” for those apparently uncomfortable.

No. It does not. The Alien and Sedition Acts jailed political opponents (including editors of Democratic-Republican Newspapers) for expressing speech in a way so as to "endanger the Republic." This was the origin of the restriction of free speech, predating all of Marx's writings.
